sadness
Sunday, May 22, 2011 - 4:41 AM

so today i went to a funeral. my good friend's dad passed away. she doesn't have any parents now...my heart goes out to her. she's a strong person but i can see the burden she's carrying. it's way too much for 21 year old. this friend is one i really cherish. she is one of the most genuine people i have ever met, and i can never recall having any big fights with her since we got to know each other when we were 13.

and in 8 years, this circle of friends of mine have gone to 3 funerals. one in 2004, when our friend passed away from a blood infection, another in 2006 when another friend's dad passed away and now this one.

now this friend has to take her little sister under her wing and lead her through life. while having to complete her studies. and maybe even settle some legal matters. she is really skinny now. but she has 2 and a half more years before she becomes a vet, so that's good.

during the funeral when we sat and talked we joked about things although i was a bit hesitant at first in the fear of disrespecting her family. but she talked about everyday stuff and then i relaxed and we tried to lighten things up. we remisnisced and discussed future plans to meet up. laughing. but whenever we asked about how her dad passed away i could see her expression falter and eyes water(of course). she is putting up a strong front. she said herself because she had some company around that she was numb to her feelings. but it would hit later when she was alone. but i know she has to stay storng because she is the elder sister and needs the strength to go through life.

please God, give her and her sister the strength to go through life and succeed. please let them have happy and fulfilling lives, free from sadness. and also, let her parents' souls rest in peace. Amin.
